Previously, Mr. Murray served as the Chief Operating Officer and President at MERCO USA LLC, where his strategic acumen and operational prowess left an indelible mark. Simultaneously, he donned the mantle of CEO at Hydroil Solutions, a company at the forefront of revolutionizing commercial slurry frac injection sites within the oil fields.

His illustrious career also includes a distinguished tenure as a Board Member for Virtus Oil and Gas Corporation, where he held the dual roles of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President from May 2014 to May 2020. Alongside luminaries such as Jim Gibbons, former Nevada Governor and Congressman, Mr. Murray orchestrated the acquisition of Tidewater Oil and Gas assets from bankruptcy. His adept leadership assembled a formidable team of American engineers, geologists, landmen, and technology experts.

Before his tenure at Virtus, Mr. Murray contributed significantly to the energy landscape. As part of the Senior Management Team at Gunnison Energy Corporation, an esteemed Oxbow Company under the ownership of William Koch, he oversaw a vast expanse of 150,000+ net acres with multiple midstream facilities. His strategic vision transcended boundaries, leaving an indelible imprint.

Venturing further, Mr. Murray played a pivotal role at Anschutz Exploration Corporation, a private enterprise helmed by Phil Anschutz. Here, he masterminded the $1.4 billion divestiture of the company’s Southern Bakken properties to Occidental Petroleum, followed by the successful $114 million Northern Bakken property sale to Crescent Pointe Energy. His financial acumen and negotiation finesse were unparalleled.

During his tenure at Sundance Energy, Inc., a small Australian-listed company, Mr. Murray orchestrated a remarkable transformation. From a modest $5 million debt loan, he propelled the company to a staggering $492 million USD Market Cap in 2008. His meteoric rise culminated in his promotion to Land Manager at the tender age of 27.

At Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Murray’s expertise as a company landman was instrumental in navigating curative challenges before drilling in the DJ Basin. His astute problem-solving skills ensured seamless operations.

Mr. Murray, an astute luminary in the energy industry, has orchestrated a symphony of strategic transactions through his private company. With a seasoned tenure spanning 20+years, including 14 years in senior management roles, he has navigated the intricate currents of commerce with finesse.

As a Senior Advisor to both Juniper Capital and Greehey & Co, Mr. Murray’s counsel reverberates across boardrooms, shaping pivotal decisions. His sagacity extends further as a consultant for Extraction Oil & Gas and Matador Resources, where he deftly balances financial imperatives with environmental stewardship.
